Receiverships

Receiverships

Erman Teicher regularly acts as counsel for court-appointed receivers in federal and state-court proceedings. We are well-versed and up to date on all statutes, court rules and case law relevant to these proceedings. The firm is frequently asked to serve as counsel in this role as receivership cases involve many inter-connected practice disciplines in which we are frequently involved including debtor and creditor rights, insolvency matters, fraudulent transfer issues, asset recoveries and sales, litigation, business, corporate and transactional issues, real estate issues and sales, claims procedures and distributions, negotiations with creditors, dissolution and wind-down issues and the liquidation of estates. We have a strong working relationship with attorneys, restructuring professionals and financial consultants in other firms which contributes to the ultimate efficiency and success of the receivership cases. Members of the firm have also been appointed to act as a court-appointed receiver in federal court proceedings and their prior experience in acting as a Chapter 7 trustee and/or representing Chapter 7 trustees allows them to appropriately serve in this role.
